Absence- corner stone for growth

I moved and I had to buy new paint. The paint stores and different and the paint is different. I cant find my colours. The stuff I bought from the first store is really thick. Its hard to even squeeze it out, so ive started to just take the tops off. Im not sure what grade of paint it is, but it must be ok, the pigment seems good, the white is strong...
There were no bright colours, Im being forced to get the same effect with jsut working with colour theory, tweeking it just a bit more. Maybe it should always be this way,it would probbly make me a better painter. More thinking.
I painted three small ones, and at first they looked like someone else had painted them. Im not sure how this happens or how you fix, or stop it . But i just kept painting. My feelings towards them changed at the end, when they were more complete looking....I don't have any old work with me. You usually have this reference in your studio and i think it has an effect on you weather you want it to or not. That is gone now, and its now that I realize how strong its existence was. Oh well, ill just paint more. At work I paint backwards because its on the backside of glass, so painting on a canvas feels like a luxury.
